Their sound belies their youth, and their songs have graceful depth.

Coasts. They're points of departure, points of arrival. Places of intersecting worlds.

A night on the coast combining indie rock and ambient artscapes.

Featuring Coastal Cabins collaborating with Luther Artists' Collective member Jill Hess.

Getting a submission from an artist I’ve never heard before makes compiling Local Frames every week so gratifying. Such is the case with Coastal Cabins, a young indie-folk rock band comprised of two Minneapolis-based Luther College students, Jack Ross and Robert Marston. “We Were Young” was recorded at home here in Minneapolis, as well as in their dorm rooms an the Jensen-Noble Hall of Music at Luther. Marston is featured on lead vocals, while Ross played all of the other instruments except the saxophone, which was played by Avery Mossman. The tranquil, retro-tinged outdoors footage featured in the video perfectly compliments the refined elegance of the moving number. Keep an eye and an ear out for Coastal Cabins — I can’t wait to hear more from this group.
